Question Hair???

Is there such a thing as a place you can go to learn how to style your own hair? My daughter and I have very difficult hair......at least to us it is difficult. My hair is very thick, curly, frizzy. My daughter's hair is curly (a little different kind of curly than mine), but hers unfortunately is damaged from her straightening it for a long time. She is trying to figure out what to do with it the way it is now (with out straightening it anymore) & trying to let it be curly again. It's so hard to do our hair and would love to find some kind of workshop or something that might help us learn how to make our hair look nice.

i dunno, but I want to go too.

I told Trina I would try and help her with her hair, or atleast show her what I do with mine. I just need to have a time when I can see her and have time for her to wash her hair and start from scratch. I dont know if it will help but I can atleast show her what I do. I think a lot of it (as far as frizziness, etc) is just finding the right products for your hair and seeing what works well with your hair.

i would start by asking your hair stylist (if you have one). i love straightners but it is so true they kill hair um as far as curly hair i would try finding hair products that work for her texture and using just a mouse or gel to control the frizziness. i would suggest one day a week working together and looking through hair styles and trying on your guys hair together if you cant find any workshops (i have never heard of any but that would be awesome if there are)

I use some stuff by garnier to control frizz Jess.. mine is curly if I let it dry naturally (not nearly as curly as yours, but still gets flyaways and frizz if I don't gel it or apply this garnier anti frizz stufff) I used to swear by Biosilk, but it's pricey at salons and I haven't been to a supply store since we moved out here. Sometimes the best thing to do is just embrace the curl... I know my aunt has VERY VERY curly hair and hers is wrecked from all the straightening, coloring and relaxing she's done too it.

This is what I use on mine ... http://www99.epinions.com/reviews/Ga...ti_Frizz_Serum

I agree with contacting your hairdresser, or a local one if you don't have your own. Ask what they can do. They may not have a formal "class" offered, and probably don't, I'm sure they would be willing to settle on a price for an hour of class. Good luck!

I also have found that using a short nosed blow dryer makes my hair less frizzy than using a regular long nosed dryer.

well, the short nosed ones are usually like travel sized dryers. I prefer them though.
